New option of self -driving taxis to offer public journeys this year

A new fleet of self -driving taxis is ready to take to the streets this year and first roll out in Las Vegas.

The vehicles with an Amazon-supported vehicles are in the making for ten years and the company says they want to define the transport again.

“Our vision of the future is not so many people will have to buy their own car,” said ZOX co-founder Jesse Levinson.

ZOX is on a mission to transform what driving looks like. Their robotaxis are autonomous vehicles that meet the experience of the rider.

“It’s really a nice premium experience.” It is safe, it is consistent, it is clean and it is much more efficient, “said Levinson.

ZOX Robotaxis don’t look like standard cars. They have four seats in the vehicle and riders face each other, sitting in rows of two.

“We really wanted to create a social experience. Before cars there were carriages, and they were like that, because that is actually the natural way you want to communicate with people, “said Levinson.

Riders can call their taxi on an app. ZOX says that their journeys will be competitive pricing for other existing offers.

“Over time, as the technology becomes ubsurer and lower costs, we will also be able to lower the costs for our customers,” said Levinson.

To ensure that their robot taxias are safe, ZOX tested on a few hundred vehicles with the same technology and sensors.

“We have tried to turn it into the safest possible vehicle, not only from a kind of autonomy perspective, but even only from a passive crash perspective. So we have this amazing reverse airbag system with double hoof animals that all passengers will cover if there is a crash, and it is super safe,” Levinson said.

Although testing is always underway to ensure that the Robotaxis are consistently safe, an autonomous vehicle expert says that self -driving cars can make public roads safer.

“It is a defensive style of driving. It is inherently safe. The decisions taken by our technology are moving a lot, much faster than the human brain,” said Gatik vice -president of government relationships and Public Affairs Rich Steiner.
